On April 27, 2017 at the conference hall of the Archive of Caucasian Philosophy and Theology the Head of Tbilisi Department of National Statistics Office of Georgia, Associate Professor Irakli Kakhidze delivered a public lecture. The title of the lecture was Social Media and Contemporary Society. The lecture was organized within the framework of continuing education program Christianity and Contemporary World. The speaker spoke extensively on the role of social media and challenges facing contemporary society. The Lecture was followed by an interesting discussion.
On April 4, 2017 Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia Mr. William Lahue delivered a public lecture on the relationship between NATO and Georgia and on NATO's engagement in South Caucasus. Mr. Lahue extensively spoke about Georgia's perspectives for membership in the alliance. On the same day Mr. Lahue had a meeting with the Rector of New Georgian University and academic staff.
Club of Young Researchers meeting was held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the conference hall of the Archive of Caucasian Philosophy and Theology. The topic of meeting was Christianity and Modern Science. Assoc. Prof. Giorgi Khuroshvili spoke about the relationship between religion and natural sciences and Assoc. Prof. Giorgi Tavadze focused on the relationship between social sciences and Christian religion. The meeting was attended by the graduate and high school students. After each speakers' presentation there followed a discussion on the issues presented.
On March 27, 2017 the ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, his excellency Mr. Jos Douma visited New Georgian University. The ambassador delivered a lecture on EU-Georgia relations. The meeting was attended by the staff members and the students of the university.
On March 15, 2017 Head of Analytical Reporting and Outreach Department of European Union Monitoring Mission, Dr. Kaupo Känd delviered a lecture at the New Georgian University. During the lecture, Dr. Kand spoke about the EU-brokered six-point ceasefire agreement and challenges related to its implementation. In addition to this, he discussed conflicts existing in the region and related issues.

On February 21, 2017 associate professor, Dr. Giorgi Tavadze delivered a lecture at the New Georgian University. The title of the lecture was Homo sovieticus. Degradation of Consciousness in the Soviet Union and its Consequences. The lecture was organized within the framework of continuing education program Christianity and Contemporary World.
Prominent medieval scholar Dr. Udo Reinhold Jeck was elected professor of Christian philosophy at the New Georgian University. Professor Jeck is the editor and interpretator of Proklos-Kommentar of important medieval neoplatonic thinker Berthold of Moosburg. He also published original interpretations on the reception of the theory of time of Aristotle and Augustine in the middle ages. in 2008-2010 Dr. Jeck was professor at Lüneburg University. Currently he is professor at Ruhr University in Bochum.
Distinguished researcher of Hegel's philosophy, Dr. Helmut Schneider was elected professor of Christian Philosophy at the New Georgia University. In 1988-2003 Prof. Schneider was the Director of the Hegel-Archive at Ruhr University Bochum. Now he gives lectures at the University of Kassel. Prof. Schneider is the editor of Hegeliana, and the editor-in-chief of Jahrbuch für Hegelforschung. He has made significant contributions in researching Hegel's intellectual heritage.
On January 31-February 1, 2017 a colloquium on Hegel's political philosophy was held at the conference hall of the Archive of Caucasian Philosophy and Theology. The head of the colloquium was Prof. Helmut Schneider. He was assisted by Asoc. Prof. Giorgi Khuroshvili and Asoc. Prof. Giorgi Tavadze.
